Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala conducted the 39th Annual Sports Meet on 18th and 19th of November,2019 in the sprawling grounds of the school. The programme began by invoking the blessings of Almighty. Mr Tom Joseph, former Indian Volleyball Captain and Arjuna Award winner who was the guest of honour lit the lamp inaugurated the Sports Meet. Shri A Gopalakrishnan, Chief sevak, CMECT-GC lit the olympic torch carried by Arjun Venugopal, a contestant in National level athletic meets. The torch of sportsmanship carried forth by the prize winning athletes at the various State and National events, was finally passed on to Johan Viju who lit the Olympic flame. The hoisting of the sports flag and the oath taken by the Captains of the four houses ignited the sparks of a high sports culture the school takes pride in. The track and field events started at 10 am and continued into the second day coverting the whole campus into a flurry of agile and skillful activities. The valedictory function was presided over by Shri V.N. Venugopal, distinguished trustee of CMECT-GC. The chief guest exhorted the participants to uphold a high standard of sports ethics and live the life infusing lessons the play field can teach without making any compromises. Prizes were awarded to the winners. Aravalli house secured the first place, followed by Shivalik in the second place and Satpura in the third position.
