Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vaduthala welcomed Book Week on a salubrious note with festoons, graffiti and wall paintings proclaiming the theme of Book Week 2019 -'Reading is my secret power'. The Book Week got underway on the bright morning of 4-11-2019 with an invocation to Almighty. The students took an oath promising to invest themselves with the power of reading. The Head Girl Gayatri Deshpande gave an illumining speech stressing upon the importance of reading. This was followed by a hilarious skit wherein the vignettes of popular children's fiction appeared with their earnest appeal to the students to lift books up from their relegated status. When the characters such as Princess Aurora, Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, Batman and Joker came to life, the plot of a thriller comedy unfurled, evoking peals of laughter and impetus for thought. The Vice Principal Ms. Mini K declared the Book Week open by releasing balloons connoting the soaring creative urges of the students.
