Gurupoornima was celebrated on 16.07.19 in the school with great reverence. The great spiritual tradition of our culture received venerated extolment as the whole school joined to pay respects to the sacred Guru Parampara. The programme was conducted in four sessions. The first session was in the KG block wherein the teachers guided the little ones to chant Gurusthothram, Tapovanashtakam, Chinmayashtakam and bhajans. Separate sessions were conducted for the primary section, Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX and Classes X, XI and XII. Ms. Nirmala Venkatesh was the guest speaker for the senior students who attended the programme in the main auditorium. Ms. Nirmala Venkatesh, a renowned educationist and a National awardee, spoke at length about the importance of Guru in a person's life. Ms. Latha Sasikumar addressed the students of classes VI, VII, VIII and IX. All the students of Class XII performed archana by rendering the Veda Vyasa Ashtothara Shatha Namavali. Chinmaya Arathi was sung. All the students offered Gurudakshina and flowers to the Gurus as a mark of their devotion for them. Students also paid their obeisance to the teachers who will retire this year honoured the function with their graceful presence.
