The 63rd anniversary of the Kerala Piravi celebrations in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala provided a spectacular platform to honour the mother tongue Malayalam and also our motherland Kerala. The programme that started at 9 A M in the main auditorium by invoking the blessings of God Almighty, depicted the eventful history and rich heritage of Kerala in a simple but dignified style. Madhav M Sunil of Class VI welcomed the gathering. The auspicious lamp was light jointly by the Vice Principal Ms. Mini K, the Primary Section Head Mistress Ms. Prasanna and the HOD of the Malayalam Department Ms. Nithya Rajesh. This was followed by a speech by the Vice Principal who touched upon the epochal social movements that led to the creation of a new societal order in Kerala where all could breathe the air of freedom. In her special message, Ms.Mini reminded the students to be harbingers of the unique customs and traditions of their ravishingly beautiful homeland. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Malayalam essay and poetry writing competitions held in the school. The first prize winning poem was recited by Sreelakshmi of class VII who sent to raptures all the listeners with her soulful portrayal of an etherial and Utopian Kerala of her dreams In an inspiring speech by Norah of Class VII, sojourning through the annals of Kerala's vibrant history, marked by struggles against social and class injustices and the triumphs of many a mass protest viz., the Channar revolt, Achipudava Protest, Mukkuthi agitation, Villuvandi samaram and Vaikom Sathyagraha to name a few. There was a PPT on the values and culture of Kerala's indeginous products and artefacts bestowed with the geographical indication tag issued by the World Trade organization. Ms Prasanna ,the Head Mistress of the Primary Section, in her address urged the students to live up to the ideals of a great land hailed as God's own country. Vaishnavi J of class VIII proposed the vote of thanks. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
