Navarathri celebrations commenced on 30/09/2019 with pomp and gaiety. All the activities for the 9 days were chalked out with the objective of realigning the devout participants to the cultural and spiritual heritage of our motherland. Day -1 began with invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha which was followed by Jugalbandi of Tabla, Guitar, Mridangam and Keyboard by the Std IV to VIII students of fine arts. On 01/10/2019 KG students had their exuberant and soulful rendition of Bhajans. On 03/10/2019 the programme started with the chanting of Sree Vishnu Sahasra Nama by Std XII students. This was followed by a talk on the importance of Mathrupooja by one of our parents, Ms. Uma Venkateshan, Commissioner of Income tax and Vigilance Office, Port Trust, Ernakulam. On Friday 04/10/2019, Mahishasura Mardini stuthi and Ashtalakshmi sthothram were sung in the open assembly attended by Std VIII to XII students. The Vidyalaya celebrated Navarathri in a well-ordained manner according to scriptural injunctions with the first three days devoted to goddess Durga for removing negative forces and urges the next three days to Goddess Lakshmi for invoking noble virtues and the culminating 3 days for Saraswathi Worship. <br> A spectacular cultural exposition provided a unique opportunity for the Chinmayites to absorb the spiritual quintessence of the  Navratri festival. The cultural pageant drew in a large gathering of parents, teachers and students to the main auditorium on 3/10/19 and the audience was sent to raptures during the hour long programme from 3.30 to 4.30 pm. The show commenced with Bhajans sung by the Bhajan group. The Ganapathy Kouthwam in Nata Raga showcased the sanctity of Bharatanatyam that enables to connect the dancers and the audience with the thread of divinity. It was followed by a solo Bharatanatyam dance by Master Madhav Sunil, the winner of the special Jury award for his splendid performance in the Mega serial Sabarimala Swamy Ayyappan telecast on Asianet. The Varna in Mohana Raga, he performed was a resplendent expression of the beautiful pastimes of Sree Krishna in Gokula, Brindavan and Mathura. The Dandia by Class 4 and 5 students was a true revelation of how the dancers dissolve their identity in rhythm and music, making themselves instruments of divine experience. The semi classical dance on the exploits of Mahishasura Mardini represented the victory of good over evil. As the evening melted into the golden hue of twilight, the partakers of the cultural fiesta were the blessed beneficiaries of a transitional experience from the mundane to the ethereal realms, as promised by our cultural and art forms. Mathru Pooja was conducted in Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vaduthala on 3/10/2019 in the main auditorium. The students gathered to honour their mothers in the sublime Chinmaya tradition. With the knowledge bequeathed on us by Gurudev's vision that offering obeisance to one's living Goddess, one's own mother, during the Navratri season is to invoke in her the divinity of Shakti, the primordial driving force of the entire cosmos, the whole programme endeavored to connect the participants with the Higher reality in them. The programe commmenced with an invocation to Almighty. The Principal Ms Prathiba V gave a talk on the importance of the occasion and the greatness of the mother who epitomizes unconditional love, tenderness, compassion, nobility and selfsacrifice. The Mathrupanchakam, a lyrical treatise by the Adwaitha Acharya Sree Sankara, was sung by Ms Reshmi Sunil and Ms Deepthi Sajiv. The stanzawise explanation was read out by Ms Anita Bhat from Pujya Gurudev's stupendous commentary on Mathrupanchakam. In the ceremonial part of the Puja, the children washed their mother's feet, smeared it with sandal and kumkum, offered flowers and performed the entire Puja with sincere devotion. During the Puja, all the mothers closed their eyes in a poignant mood reminiscing their own mothers and offering Manasa puja to them. The children chanted Matru Stavanam composed by Swami Tejomayanandaji. The mothers blessed their children whole heartedly infusing into them confidence and strength to grow up as worthy members of a global family. Of all the spiritual activities conducted in the school, this year, with the sincere participation of devout Chinmayites, Mathru Puja adorned a shining vermillion dot on the vibrant countenance of our cultural aspiration.
