icon   Posted Date : Nov 02 , 2018

The 62nd anniversary of Kerala Piravi was celebrated in Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vaduthala on 01.11.18. This day was also an occasion to cherish the Classical language status conferred to Malayalam language 5 years ago. The programme started by invoking the blessings of God Almighty. Varsha of Std VIII C welcomed the gathering. The programme was officially inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Principal, Vice Principal and the Head of the primary section. Our Principal Ms Prathiba V gave the presidential address. She stressed on the need to honour and preserve the richness of our mother tongue which enjoys the classical language status by virtue of its antiquity and a recorded history spanning over 1500 years. This was followed by a short skit in Malayalam that highlighted the priceless heritage represented by our mother tongue and literature. A new Malayalam book authored by was presented to the library as an invaluable addition. Our Malayalam teacher Ms. Jayashree gave an inspiring speech glorifying the monumental works of Malayalam literature that have been a symbol of human worth,  timeless values and goodness. She enthused the students to uphold the cultural values portrayed in those works so as to derive strength to face all challenges in life and grow up into responsible citizens. The thematic dance drama put up by the students was a beautiful depiction of the uprising of Kerala from the ravaged of floods -  a celebration of solidarity showcased by humanity during those gruelling days. Chekutty, the doll representative of ressurection was beautifully blended with the theme. It captivated the audience by its sheer power to infuse hope into anyone tormented by harrowing tribulations. The flood stained doll that is a symbol of resilience left a lasting imprint in everyone and stirred up compelling urges to work towards preserving the rich culture language and heritage of God's own country. Cheekutty dolls were presented to the Principal and the Vice principal. The curtains were brought down to Kerala Piravi 2018 programme with the vote of thanks by Ms Nithya  R,the HOD of Malayalam Department. The students dispersed after the National Anthem.
