The Novice Novella Noveau Art Contest was conducted in Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vaduthala on 26.11.2019. This inter school competition in story writing cum illustration aims at promoting the talents of the children in creative writing. The programme began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty. The chief guest, Ms.Lakshmi Ramachandran, the Dean of Global Public School, lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme. Ms.Prathiba V, the Principal, in her welcome address, remarked upon the uniqueness of the event that provides an apt platform not only for the burgeoning writing skills but also the skill of illustration. She also recalled the pioneering work done by the Founder, Ms Janaki, whose ambitious vision and refined principles on education, created a fertile ground for developing the creativity of children. Ms.Lakshmi Ramachandran, urged the participants to make use of all opportunities they come across to enable themselves to blossom into responsible citizens. She commented on the great scope of Novice Novella as it incorporates all the 4 C-s, the 21st century skills, such as creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. The book pledge was taken by the students. The guest of honour officially released the Novice Novella Story Book, a compilation of the prize winning stories from the contest held in 2018-19. There was a light entertainment programme showcasing characters from children's all-time favourite books, that spurred the creative possibilities of the youngsters. Ms. Manju Abraham, the Academic Coordinator, apprised the students on the rules of the contest.
